Description
A practical demonstration of how light travels in straight lines. Can be done either on a playground with chalk or using sticks. Groups can join together to see how far the light can travel.
Learning Objectives
Science: Recognise that light appears to travel in straight lines.
Use the idea that light travels in straight lines to explain that objects are seen because they give out or reflect light into the eye.
Resources: Mirrors & torches – 1 for every 3 students, string/wool about two meters per group, chalk or sticks and shower curtains.
