Description
This activity involves a little preparation, but helps to consolidate place value. It is a great activity to do in autumn when leaf colour can also be used to reinforce the learning.
Learning Objectives
Maths: Read, write, order and compare numbers according to place value.
Round up a whole number.
Resources: Sticks and leaves, printed activity sheets x 4, printed and laminated place value labels x 4, 30 small stones, conkers, acorns or similar with three sets of 0 – 9. (Write each number on with a permanent marker), plant pot or similar to hold numbers, pens, clipboards x4.
