Description
Children forage the school grounds for edible goodies to eat and drink. Although they will not be eating the goods found, they will still be foraging and then tasting nettle or rosehip tea. Spotter sheets are included.
Learning Objectives
History: Understanding the needs of prehistoric people to survive.
Science: Identify that animals, including humans, need the right types and amount of nutrition, and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat.
Naming a variety of edible native plants.
Resources: Laminated spotter sheets x 4, clip boards and white board pens, flask of lukewarm rosehip or nettle tea (both can be bought cheaply at most supermarkets), enough cups for everyone in class.
