Description
An active session inviting the teams to discover the outdoor area at school in a scientific manner. Teams discover which materials in the school grounds have different properties and use the data collected to answer questions.
Learning Objectives
Science: Compare and group together everyday materials on the basis of their properties, including their hardness, solubility, transparency, conductivity (electrical and thermal), and response to magnets.
Demonstrate that dissolving, mixing and changes of state are reversible changes.
Maths: Solve comparison, sum and difference problems using information presented in bar charts, pictograms, tables and other graphs.
Resources: 4 pencils, 4 clip boards, 4 x bottles of water, 4 x magnets (if you wish to pair the children you will need more of everything)
