Description
Teams use guttering to create an experiment where they have to slow the ball rolling down the guttering. It is harder than it sounds and children will spend hours fathoming out ways to get it to work. Includes science sheets to fill in.
Learning Objectives
D and T: Select from and use a wide range of materials and components, including construction materials according to their functional properties.
Science: Compare how things move on different surfaces. Carry out simple tests to find out how far things move on different surfaces and collecting data.
Resources: 4 lengths of guttering, 4 tennis balls, access to a variety of natural materials including soil, sand, slow down science sheets, stopwatch, clipboards and pens.
