CSI (Crime Scene Investigation)

Description

Children set up four natural crime scenes and see if they can solve the crimes. Requires some simple to source materials to create each scene. Includes forensic sheets for children to fill in to create an authentic crime scene experience.

History: Study of an aspect or theme in British history that extends pupil’s chronological knowledge beyond 106.

Changes in an aspect of social history in this case crime and punishment

Resources: Crime scene sheets one of each, forensic sheets x 4, hazard tape, 20 laminate labels and 4 whiteboard pens, rulers, 4 clipboards and pens, water, access to sticks. Resources for clues: Crime 1 – fur, red paint, chalk; Crime 2 – clay or mud to make poo, dried peas or other seeds; Crime 3 – feathers, white paint for poo, stems and bits of leaf; Crime 4 – Some reddy brown fur, broken eggshells, twigs for a nest.
